We offer all of our presentations and workshops both in-person and virtually, and are happy to tailor our experience to suit your audience.

We speak regularly at industry conferences and lead internal leadership summits and workshops with some of the world’s most complex and influential corporations and nonprofit organizations. Our talks draw directly from August’s decade of hands-on work inside these organizations, and are grounded in simple, powerful practices that consistently help teams turn bold ideas into coordinated action.

Some of our most requested talks and workshops help leaders and teams:

  • Organize for impact when priorities are shifting and capacity is constrained
  • Make decisions in uncertainty without defaulting to hierarchy or paralysis
  • Build a learning culture through small bets, fast feedback, and real-world experiments
  • Strengthen trust and alignment while increasing speed, not drag
  • Harness human–AI collaboration to unlock speed, creativity and capacity

Teams That Meet the Moment: A Playbook for Great Teamwork

In a world of constant change, strong strategy and great talent aren’t enough. What matters is how teams actually work together. In this session, we share real-world stories and practical lessons from a decade of work with large, complex organizations, alongside tools featured in our book Teams That Meet the Moment. Participants leave with concrete practices to help teams organize for impact, make better decisions in uncertainty, learn quickly, and build trust, starting immediately.

Reinventing Teamwork in the Age of AI

AI is changing how work gets done, but most teams are still relying on ways of working designed for a pre-AI world. In this session, we explore how everyday team practices can help organizations partner effectively with AI while strengthening the human skills that matter most. Drawing on real examples from large, complex organizations, participants learn simple, intuitive practices to improve decision-making, prioritize work, and learn faster, using AI as a teammate, not a crutch.

Your Newest Teammate: Why AI Is More Talent Than Tech

AI is no longer just automating tasks. It’s showing up as a collaborator, coach, and problem-solver inside teams. In this session, we offer a practical reframe: treating AI not as a technology project, but as a new kind of teammate. Drawing on real examples from complex organizations, we explore how leaders can shape effective human–AI collaboration across how teams meet, decide, and learn, and step into a new role as architects of the future of teamwork.

Decision Making as a Lever for Organizational Change

Decision making is where power, culture, and performance meet, and yet most organizations rely on outdated, command-and-control approaches that slow execution and reinforce hierarchy. In this session, we introduce a practical framework for redesigning how decisions get made so teams can move faster, involve the right voices, and act with confidence in uncertainty. Drawing on real-world examples from rapidly scaling organizations, participants learn simple decision-making practices they can apply immediately to reduce friction, increase ownership, and turn decision making into a catalyst for organizational change.

Dilemma Tests: A New Tool for Values-Based Decision Making

Many organizations have clear values on paper—but struggle to bring them to life in everyday decisions. In this interactive session, participants are introduced to dilemma tests, a practical learning tool that helps leaders practice making real-time, values-aligned choices in complex and uncertain situations. Through realistic scenarios and hands-on design work, teams learn how to use dilemma tests to strengthen decision making, surface tradeoffs, and close the gap between stated values and actual behavior.

Empowering Decision Makers: How Leaders Unlock Speed and Ownership

Slow decisions aren’t a people problem; they’re a design problem. In this collaborative workshop, executive leadership teams learn a practical, modern approach to decision making that replaces consensus traps and approval bottlenecks with clear ownership, smart input, and fast follow-through. Using August’s Empower Decision Makers playbook, leaders work on real decisions facing their organization and leave with shared language, clear roles, and simple practices that empower teams to decide and act with confidence, while preserving trust, accountability, and alignment.

Reinventing Teams for an Age of Uncertainty

Even the strongest strategies stall when teams are slowed by bureaucracy, misaligned priorities, and risk-averse decision making. This session is designed for senior leaders who need their organizations to move faster without burning people out or losing coherence. Drawing on real examples from large, complex enterprises, we share a small set of next-generation team practices that help leaders cut through friction, empower teams to act, and translate ambition into results without waiting for a full reorg or cultural overhaul.

Building REAL Trust: A Leadership Framework for Resilience and Performance

Trust is not a soft concept. It’s a core organizational capability that directly shapes speed, resilience, and results. In this session, senior leaders are introduced to August’s REAL Trust framework, which breaks trust down into four practical cornerstones: Reliability, Empathy, Authenticity, and Logic. Using real-world examples and a facilitated trust assessment, leadership teams diagnose where trust is strong, where it’s fragile, and which everyday leadership behaviors matter most. Leaders leave with a shared language for trust and a small set of concrete practices they can model immediately to strengthen trust at scale.
